Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros Theory: What’s Violet’s Second Signet?
The Empyrean series or the Fourth Wing series by Rebecca Yarros has been the book every one is talking about. It’s a fantasy book that has dragons, battles, and romance.
Violet Sorrengail is the main character. In the first book — Fourth Wing, Violet bonds with two dragons, which hasn’t been done before. If a dragon rider bonds with a dragon, the dragon will transfer their magic to the rider. If you bond with two dragons, the power from those two dragons will be transferred to the rider. With Violet, her first power was transferred, but we’re still waiting on the second power. So the question that Rebecca hasn’t answered is over that second signet. What could it be?
In an interview, Rebecca mentioned Violet’s silver hair is done on purpose. I think the hair has to do with the second signet, but what signet can make someone’s hair silver?
I’m not sure to be honest, so I’m at a crossroads with that question. I know they’re connected, but I’m not sure how.
If you have any thoughts, comment down below. Now, my other thoughts about the signet and what it could be was mentioned in the second book, Iron Flame. Xiordan — Violet’s boyfriend — and Violet are arguing about signets. Violet mentions one that hasn’t been seen in centuries, and that’s the distance wielder who can travel anywhere in minutes. This is a rare signet, and Rebecca has Violet already have a rare signet, which is yielding lightning. It’s possible she could get another rare signet.
Rebecca likes to make her characters exhibit things not seen in a while, so this only makes sense for her to get the signet. One example of this is in the first book when the professor was talking about black dragons and how one hasn’t bonded with a dragon rider for a while. Later in the book, Violet bonds with a black dragon called Tairn and another dragon. Rebecca loves to give subtle clues throughout the book, and I think she provided that clue for Violet’s signet in the second book.
There are so many theories out there on what Violet’s signet could be, but it’s something that was mentioned. Rebecca likes to give clues through dialogue and rarely anything else. If you want to check out more theories, click here. This article provides over 10 signets that Violet could have, but we won’t know until summer time when the third book comes out. But what do you think? What could be her second signet?
